If you want to make money online (and everybody wants that) you need something pretty simple: traffic. The more traffic you have the more money you make. Everyone wants more traffic. Internet Marketing guru, John Reese, has came up a great way to help your blog get more traffic, a widget called Blogrush.

How is works? All you have to do is place the BlogRush widget on your blog and earn a credit each time it is displayed when your page loads. You are rewarded by using your credits to display your blog content on other blogs that use the widget. BlogRush works by taking your RSS feed content and syndicating articles across the network at blogs that are topic-related to yours. Let’s say you run the BlogRush widget and your blog gets 1000 views per day. That means headlines from your blog will be viewed 1000 times on other blogs running the BlogRush widget. What’s more, if you refer another blog to the network and they do 1000 page views per day, you’ll get your headline shown another 1000 times. This goes down for ten generations.

WordPress 2.2.3 upgrade

A month ago wordpress released 2.2.2 version. Yestarday they released version 2.2.3. The world’s most important blogging software said that 2.2.3 is a security and bug-fix release for the 2.2 series. Since this is a security release, they suggest users to upgrade immediately.

You have two ways to upgrade: manual you have to copy the new files to your server (you may use FTP or shell commands to do so) or automatic using this plugin from Techie buzz, or this plugin (plugin for windows and linux users) from Zirona. Even you choose the plugin from Techie buzz or Zirona you can find steps for the new installation of the plugin.

I am upgrating manually and if you upgrade with the plugin, I would love to hear your experience.

After announcing the new web 2.0, AuctionAds is making another step to expand. Agloco August update

Today I get an e-mail from agloco.com talking about their August update in: revenue, tech and media:

Revenue – We are excited that we have signed one of our major revenue partnerships for North America last week. We will be making the formal announcement later. Getting a major company to work with their own internal system to start to take advantage of the Viewbar’s capabilities is very exciting to us. It will take our partner’s tech team 3 to 5 weeks to complete their work, so you should see changes occurring after that time.

Tech Update The tech team reported that our move to new servers was completed last week. Early reports are faster downloading for most locations. Also, all Member accounts have been updated for total hours accumulated.

Media – We have received a lot of positive emails about Mike Klingler’s interview with Brian Greenwald. In it, Brian talked about the AGLOCO Vision and he answered some questions about the company’s current progress and trajectory. Mike and other Members have worked to make this available to all Members. Here you can listen to the interview.

A few days ago we find out that pligg is for sale. Now we find out the price for it: $150k. Seems that this price is for domain name (evaluated at $5k) and pligg’s community of 10,000 users. That means we have $15 for each user.
Cheap?

extra storage from google will cost you

Thursday, Google announced that it is offering additional capacity at a price for storing additional e-mail and digital photos. The new storage option works with two Google products – Picassa Web Albums and Gmail and soon at that list it will be added Google Docs & Spreadsheets.

In 2004, when Google first began offering storage, the limit was 1 GB. That figure doubled in 2005, and is currently at the 2.8 GB mark. According to their new plan, the cheapest option is for 20$ – 6G of space, and the options are growing to 500$ – 250 G.

Why to pay for Gmail? There is other option: Yahoo! which is offering unlimited storage. And it looks better than Gmail.

Pligg for sale

Pligg, originally named menéame in Spanish, is a web application that allows you to submit an article that will be reviewed by all and will be promoted, based on popularity, to the main page. When a user submits a news article it will be placed in the “unpublished” area until it gains sufficient votes to be promoted to the main page. The original source for Pligg was authored by Ricardo Galli. He was influenced by the extremely popular English technology site digg.com.
The admins sent a statement about the sale to Mashable today:

They say all good things must come to an end, but in this case it might just be the beginning. In a bold move, just before the release of our next version, Pligg CMS has decided to sell the business side of pligg. What once started as a rag tag group of rouge open source developers a year and a half ago, today has become one of the hottest Content Management System software used today. Pligg is used by sites such as VH1’s Best Week Ever, VideoSift.com, Sk-rt.com, Indianpad.com, RealEstateVoices.com, PlantChange.com, AgentB.com and Rocketboom. The Google search for “powered by pligg” shows an astounding figure of over 2,410,000 results.
The decision to sell the business end of Pligg just made sense. The community has grown larger than ever expected, with just over 10,000 registered webmasters sharing and trading tips, over 60,000 Sourceforge downloads, 2 IRC rooms that are active 24/7. It’s become an extremely large community to manage. We all have day jobs.

Cornell University Joins Google Library Project

If you want to look through Cornell University you can do it for free because some of their content will become available to everyone, thanks to an arrangement with Google’s Library Project. Not all the library’s content will be made available, due to copyright restrictions. Only texts that are out-of-copyright will be made completely available for online access, and everything else will be scanned for basic info, similar to what you’ll find on Amazon, along with information on where the book can be purchased or borrowed.
